Identity Project: The Texas Inn
For this project I chose to re-brand the classic Lynchburg diner, The Texas Inn. The T-Room has been a part of Lynchburg since 1935 and has been serving their delicious cheesy westerns for close to eighty years. While creating the new logo design, I wanted to stick with the classic diner look from the 50's/60's. The Texas Inn is a quick swing-in diner, so I wanted the logo to also resemble itself as a quick pit stop. The original colors for the Texas Inn is red and a light blue, which I still kept in their identity. The light green was used to help tie in the cactus graphic within the design. Since the cactus doesn't appear in the logo itself, I had to incorporate it into the design using repetition. As seen, the cactus appears on the letterhead, envelope, and business card, to create that familiarity with the brand. The design process included a lot of experimenting with different type faces for the logo. I wanted that balance between using script and bold typography.
